Mid Century Chiswell Hexagonal Sideboardwith Hutch

A gorgeus Australian made Sideboard/ Cabinet with removable Hutch from the 1960s by Chiswell Furniture. A quality teak and teak veneer construction with solid timber edging along the cabinet doors.
 
We love the elegance and simplicity of the design. This piece is material evidence of the quality materials used and superior craftmanship from the 1960s. 
 
This hexagonal cabinet has 2 cabinet doors with hidden inserted pull handles and soft close door mechanism. The double doors open up to a deep cabinet with a single height adjustable shelf that could easily fit records. Note the gorgeous solid timber framing of the cabinet doors and the beautiful timber inlay of the interior.
 
The hutch sits neatly on top of the cabinet with an additional height adjustable shelf. The hutch provides ample additional open storage space, ideal if you wish to show of some of your precious wares and books.
 
This cabinet is perfectly shaped to be placed either flush aginst the wall or in a corner. In addition, it has a finished back and could thus be placed in the centre of a room or used as a room divider
 
The piece sits on four tapered legs, and is in overall near perfect condition with only minor imperfections.  Extremly solid and sturdy piece and all the mechanisms work well. We raised this cabinet on timber legs and the final result is a functional and aesthetically pleasing drinks cabinet. Small bruise to the top of the hutch, hardly visible unless you stand on tip toes. Very light markings and fading to the top of the cabinet where the hutch sits - see close ups.
